I’ve been too busy to plot, let alone blog about the plot but the plot is not forgotten.

I pop there once or twice a week for watering duties and a bit of light weeding.

In the last couple of weeks another task has been added to my brief visits – harvesting.

I have often said anyone can grow potatoes but actually they are harder to grow than they look. Or rather getting them to stay healthy and yield edible fruits has really alluded me so far but earlier this month I dug up some beauties that tasted like the new potatoes my granddad used grow.

Today after strimming and weeding I picked a small punnet of raspberries and black currants, five onions, five beetroot, a lettuce and my first courgette.

Not the most bountiful of harvests but it made me smile and consider that this hard graft sometimes comes with rewards.

Ooh – potatoes like Grandad used to grow – that’s an achievement in itself! There’s nothing quite like that newly dug taste. well done! xx
